Ssingo Secondary School Retains Mityana District Football Title 

Ssingo Secondary School has once again demonstrated its dominance in school sports after emerging winners of the Mityana district secondary schools’ football tournament, defeating MUMSA High School in a dramatic final held at Ssingo Stadium.

The highly competitive match ended in a 6–5 victory for Ssingo SS after a tense penalty shootout, securing the school’s second title in the competition. Both teams delivered strong performances, with the game remaining tightly contested until it was decided from the spot.

Speaking after the win, Eron Nalumu  credited the triumph to teamwork, discipline, and determination among the players.

“This victory reflects the hard work our team has put in. The boys showed great resilience and composure, especially during the penalty shootout,” she said.

She added that winning the trophy for a second time is a sign of consistency and a strong sports culture within the school.

School director Emmanuel Butebi emphasized that the success is a result of deliberate efforts to balance academics with co-curricular activities.

“We do not only focus on academics but also invest in sports to nurture and develop the talents of our students,” he explained.
